Turkish rescue teams have pulled out a woman and 3 of her children from the rubble of a collapsed building, about 23 hours after the Izmir earthquake.
Health Minister Fakhruddin Kujah told reporters in Izmir that one of the children died of his wounds later in hospital, while rescue efforts continued to free a fourth child.
The dead child is one of 37 people killed in Friday's earthquake, 35 in Turkey and two on the Greek island of Samos.
