According to a report released by Health Minister, Dr. Leya Teshome, the number of people diagnosed with the virus has reached 701 in Ethiopia. 45 Ethiopians among those diagnosed with the virus within the last 24 hours One is an Israeli citizen and 29 men and 17 women aged between 12 and 79 years old. Eight people have been identified as having a history of travel abroad and no contact with the infected person, 34 people with foreign travel history and 4 people with a person who has been infected.
Of those diagnosed with the virus, 13 were from Addis Ababa, 8 of whom had a history of travel abroad and no known relationship with the person, 4 had any contact with the disease, and 1 had a foreign travel history. 3 people from the Tigray region (all with a history of travel abroad), 15 people from the Amhara region (all with a history of travel abroad), 11 people from the Somali region (all with a history of travel abroad) and 4 people. According to Dr. Leah, people have foreign travel history and are drivers of transit.
