We call upon the British Government to put Babar Ahmad on trial in Britain.If 100,000 signatures are obtained by 10TH NOVEMBER 2011, his case will be eligible for a debate in Parliament.BACKGROUNDBabar Ahmad is a British Citizen, born and brought up in South London.In December 2003 he was arrested by the Metropolitan Police at his home in South London. During this arrest he was beaten and abused by members of the Territorial Support Group from the Metropolitan Police. He sustained 73 injuries to his body. He was released 6 days later without charge. The Metropolitan Police admitted liability and paid compensation. No officers, however, have been convicted of this assault.Babar Ahmad was later arrested again in August 2004 on an extradition request by the US.
