    The World Federation of Muslim Scholars issued a statement calling on the Ethiopian government to protect the rights of Muslims and dialogue with their leaders, and warned the consequences of causing discord among them, also called the Islamic world to protect their fellow oppressed everywhere, and this is the text of the statement:

    Praise be to God, prayer and peace upon the Messenger of Allah Muhammad and his family and
    allies .. And after;;
    The World federation of Muslim Scholars is following the situation of Muslims Habesha (Ethiopia) land first migration, the land of the good King Nejashi, under whom nobody was oppressed, therefore he stood with the com panions of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him the oppressed and show magnanimity, values and high morals, and the outcome of the conditions of Muslims today, starting from the emperor Haileselase which wreaked havoc in the land, and he restricted the life of Muslims and left them with suffering.

    Today, under the current government, which began a kind of openness to Muslims - and that did not get to all their rights - there have been recent major problems where the government launched an attack against the preachers and committed youth on charges of terrorism and Al Qaeda, and plunged hundreds of them in prisons, with torture, and it stormed some mosques and closed most of their newspapers and magazines, and more than that the government's attempt to bring about dissension Ahbash followers to stray Abdullah Harari, and the government trying to impose ahbash on the Ethiopians and the majority of the Supreme Council of Muslims and this is what Muslims see as blatant interference in religious affairs, and the seed of dissension among them to achieve the political goals of the government, and therefore resulted in massive wave of protests from Muslims, and in front of these problems and calamities that befell our brothers the Muslims in Ethiopia (Abyssinia) the International Federation for Muslim Scholars confirms the following:

    1 – Federation calls on the Ethiopian government to lift oppression and injustice of Muslims in
    Ethiopia, and the granting of religious freedom, the right to choose their representatives, and the achievement of their equality with Christians in rights and duties, they are also people of the earth, and they make up a large proportion of the population, why digest their rights while they carry their citizenship duties properly? Why it is intended for their areas of backwardness, ignorance and poverty? Muslims in Ethiopia has been a good and tolerance throughout history.
    It is without doubt the realization of this true partnership and equality in rights and duties is the one who strengthens the Government and people of Ethiopia.

    2 – Federation warns that the Ethiopian government to proceed with the policy of violence,
    oppression, imprisonment and false accusations to all Muslims and cause discord among them may have failed in the whole world, and it means to destroy the people and government together as we have seen in Somalia and elsewhere. Therefore we demand the government to dialogue with representatives of Muslim scholars and tribal leaders and worshipers to reach a permanent peaceful coexistence formula protects the rights and borders.

    3 – Federation calls on Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the leaders of the Muslim world and its scholars and its people to stand with the oppressed of th ir brothers in Ethiopia, and their support financially and morally, and pressure on the government to achieve universal justice and full equality, and remedies for them and injustice.

    4 – Federation calls for charitable organizations and humanitarian care in Ethiopia (the land of the first migration) to achieve comprehensive development for them.

    5 – Federation show its readiness to visit Ethiopia through high-level delegation headed by its
    secretary general for the situation of Muslims to closely, and dialogue with the government and
    scholars in order to achieve security, stability and peaceful coexistence based on justice and equality in this country that bears fragrant history and magnanimity and dignity, hence the Federation does not wish this country except good and peaceful coexistence based on tolerance and the rights of full citizenship for all, and the overall development and prosperity.

    • የሽምግልናው ሂደት ከመነሻው ጀምሮ ከሚዛናዊነት ይልቅ ኮሚቴዎቻችንና ሰላማዊ እንቅስቃሴያችንን በመወንጀል የተጀመረ በመሆኑ፤ 
    • ከመንግስት ጋር እንዲደራደሩ የመረጥናቸው ኮሚቴዎች አላግባብ ታስረው ያሉ በመሆኑ፤
    • መንግስት በአንድ በኩል ሽምግልና እያለ በሌላ በኩል ያለፈውን ጁሙዓ ጨምሮ እስካሁንም በርካታ ወንድሞችና እህቶችን ለእስርና ድብደባ እየዳረገ በመሆኑ፤
    • በጥቅሉ ከመንግስት በኩል ችግሩን ለመፍታት ምንም አይነት በጎ ተነሳሽነት ያልታየ በመሆኑ

  • Joplin mosque razed in fire; 2nd blaze this summer

    JOPLIN, Mo. - A mosque in southwest Missouri burned to the ground early Monday in the second fire to hit the Islamic center in little more than a month, officials said.

    The fire at the Islamic Society of Joplin was reported about 3:30 a.m. Monday, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office said. The sheriff's department said the building was a total loss. No injuries were reported and no charges have been filed.

    Imam Lahmuddin, who leads the mosque and was in the building until late Sunday, said he was "sad and shocked" about the fire.

    "I'm still in front of the building looking at the damage and nothing can be saved," Lahmuddin said in a telephone interview Monday. "But since we are people of faith we just can remember that this is a thing that happened because God let it happen, and we have to be patient, particularly in the month of Ramadan, control our emotions, our anger."

    A blaze at the same building July 4 caused minor damage and was determined arson. No arrests were made and the FBI has offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to charges in that fire.

    The agency released video footage of what appeared to be a man starting the July blaze that did not cause extensive damage. Sharon Rhine, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said the center's security cameras were burned in the Monday fire.

    The FBI is investigating the cause of the latest fire and whether or not it was also the result of arson, said agency spokeswoman Bridgett Patton.

    A Washington-based Muslim civil rights organization meanwhile called for more police protection at mosques and other houses of worship following the Joplin fire and a deadly attack at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin. The Council on American-Islamic Relations also offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever started the mosque fire.

    About 50 families belong to the Islamic Society of Joplin, which opened in 2007 as a mosque and community center. The FBI led an investigation in 2008 when the mosque's sign was torched. That crime also remained unsolved.

    Lahmuddin, who has lived in Joplin for about four years, said several people were at the center late Sunday. He said despite the attacks, the center's members have good relationships with residents and other churches. He said many are doctors at area hospitals.

    On Sunday, a gunman killed six people at a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee. The imam said it was a cause of great concern that both faiths had seemingly come under attack.

    "I heard that yesterday, and this morning we see this happen in our place," he said. "We are more fortunate that no one here got hurt in this incident."

  • Abu Bakar Bashir threatens war if Burma harms Muslim Rohingyas

    The 74-year-old made the threat in a letter to the country's president Thein Sein, seen on a website yesterday.

    He is widely regarded as a spiritual leader of radical Islam in Indonesia - the world's most populous Muslim country - and is currently serving a 15-year-jail term for funding terror.

    "We've heard Muslims screaming in your country because of your acts of evil... you have taken them out from their homes and are killing them," he wrote in the letter dated July 22, which was passed on to followers and published on the website voa-islam.com.

    "If you neglect these calls, by Allah our Lord, you have witnessed the fall of proud and conceited countries in the hands of our mujahideen soldiers," he added.

    The letter was confirmed as authentic by Son Hadi, the spokesman for Jemaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT), a group founded by Bashir in 2008 and labelled a terrorist organisation by the United States.

    An outspoken supporter of violent jihad, Bashir was convicted in 2010 of financing a terror cell in Aceh province. Earlier this year, the country's top court overturned a lower court's decision to cut his 15-year term.

    "You must know that we are brothers as Muslims. Their pains is our pain, their sorrows are our sorrows, and their blood that you shed is our blood too," Bashir wrote. "By the will of Allah, we can destroy you and your people."

    Son Hadi said yesterday that the letter was submitted on Monday to the Burma embassy in Jakarta. The embassy was not reachable for comment.

    About 100 Muslim extremists from the Indonesian branch of pro-Caliphate organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir protested yesterday outside the Burma embassy and vowed a Jihad to stop the "Muslim cleansing".

    "We are ready to die to help our fellow Muslims in Myanmar [Burma]. A Jihad is the only way to stop this massacre," one of the protesters on loudspeaker told the crowd, who shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest).

    Violence erupted in June in Rakhine state, in western Burma, between Buddhists and Rohingya, leaving about 80 people dead from both sides, according to official estimates deemed low by rights groups.

    Burma security forces opened fire on Rohingya Muslims, committed rape and stood by as rival mobs attacked each other during the recent wave of sectarian violence, New York-based Human Rights Watch said on Wednesday.

    The authorities failed to protect both Muslims and Buddhists and then "unleashed a campaign of violence and mass roundups against the Rohingya", the group said in a report.

    በቦታው የነበረው ዘጋቢያችን በተለይ በቀኝ ቤት መስጊድ 7 ሰዎች ብቻ በምዝገባመገኘታቸው ጎንደርን አጅብ አሰንቷል፡፡የአህባሽ አቀንቃኝና ከአሁንበፊት ቃዲ ኖሮ በሙስና የተባረረው እራሱን “ሀጅ” ብሎ የሚጠራው ኡስማን አብድረህማን በመስጊዱ ከሚሰግደው ከ1500 በላይ ጀምዓ 7 ሰው መገነቱ ያበሳጨው በመሆኑ በስፍራው የሚገኙ ወጣቶችን እያሸማቀቀ ይገኛል፡፡ ለመንግስትም ሰላማዊ ወጣቶችን የታሰሩት አባላት ናቸው እያለ በመጠቆም የሙስሊሞችጠላት መሆኑን በማስመስከር ላይ ይገኛል በማለት ዘጋቢያችን ከጎንደር ገልፆልናል፡፡የጎንደር ሙስሊም ወጣቶችምበሁኔታው መናደዳቸውንና ጎንደር የአሸባሪዎች መፍለቂያ ሳትሆን የታላላቅ ዑለማዎችና የነ ኡስታዝ በድሩ ሁሴን፣የነኡስታዝ ያሲን ኑሩ፣የነ ኡስታዝ ሀሰን ታጁና የሌሎች ዳዒዎች መፍለቂያ መሆኗን ለማሳወቅ በሰልፉ ባለመገኘት አስመስክሯል ተብሏል፡፡ በቴሌቪዢን እንዳየነው ሀሚድና ሚስቱ ቢፎክሩ፣ቢስፎክሩ የጎንደርን ወጣት ሊያሰልፉ አልቻሉም፡፡ ይባስ ወጣቱ በኢማኑ በመጎልበት ዲኑን እንዲያጠነክር አደረገ እንጅ ነበር ያሉት ወጣቶቹ፡፡ በሰልፉ ላይ ተገኝተው የነበሩ አዛውቶችምወደ ሰልፍ ስንወጣ የተነገረን ሌላ አሁን ደግሞ ሌላ በማለት ከተቆጩ በኋላ ወንድሞቻችንን ፈረድንባቸው በማለት አፉ ይበሉን ተጭበርብረን በፈፀምነው ወንጀል ተጸጽተናል በማለት የተሰማቸውን ሀዘን ገልጸዋል፡፡
    ወደዋናው ርዕሴ ልመለስ ይላል ዘጋቢያችንወደ አምባጊዮርጊስ
    በጎንደሩ የተቃውሞ ሰልፍ ተብየው ሲገርመን በአምባጊርጊስ አዲስ ክስተት መፈጠሩ አገር ጉድ አሰኘ፡፡ዘጋቢያችን እንደሚከተለው ዘገበልን››………..
    እንደሌላው ሁሉ የአምባጊዮርጊስ ሙስሊም ህብረተሰብ የታሰሩት ወንድሞቻችን በአሸባሪነትና በአክራሪነት ተወንጅለው እንዲፈረድባቸው ሰልፍ ውጡ ይባላሉ፡፡እነርሱም ሀሳቡን ይቀበሉና ለሰልፉ ቀጠሮ ይይዛሉ፡፡ህዝበ ሙስሊሙ በተባለው ቀን በነቂስ ይወጣል፡፡ ሰልፉ ተጀመረ፡፡”አላሁ አክበር” ሰልፉ ቀጠለ፡፡ ነገሩ እንደታሰበው ሳይሆን ቀረ፡፡ “ፍየል ወዲህ ቅዝምዝም ወዲያ” መፈክሮቹ ሌላ ሁኑ፡፡
    - የመስጊዳቺን ቦታ ይከበር
    - የታሰሩ ወንድሞቻችን ይፈቱ
    - የሙስሊሞች መብት ይከበር…… ሌሎችም መፈክሮች ቀጠሉ
    የመንግስት አካላትም በጉዳዩ ተደናግጠው ሰልፉ እንዲቆም ቢሞክሩም ሳይሳካ ቀጥሎ ዋለ…….. አላሁ አክበር!
    አሁንም የምናስተላልፈው መልዕክት ቢኖር መንግስት የታሰሩትን ወንድሞቻችንን ፈትቶ ጥያቄዎቹ ተመልሰው በሰላም ወደ ልማታችን እንግባ ነው በማለት በመረረ ቃል አሳስበዋል ሰልፈኞቹ፡፡ በጎንደርና አካባቢዋ የምንገኝ ሙስሊሞች ወንድሞቻችን እንዲፈቱ እየጠየቅን ከሁሉም ኢትዮጵያዊ ሙስሊም ጎን መሆናችንን ልንገልጽ እንወዳለን፡፡
